Custom Orthotics
Personalised, 3D-printed Phits orthotics designed from your own Footscan gait data to support how you walk, run and move.
What are Custom Orthotics?
Custom orthotics are insoles designed specifically for your feet and the way you move. Unlike off-the-shelf insoles, which are made to fit an average foot, custom orthotics are created from your own assessment to provide support, cushioning and correction where you need it.
At Apollo Health Collective, we use Footscan, a dynamic pressure plate system, to measure how your feet interact with the ground as you walk or run. It captures pressure distribution, timing and roll-off patterns through each step, giving a detailed picture of how load moves through your feet.
That data is used to design Phits orthotics, 3D-printed insoles built from your dynamic gait analysis rather than a static impression of your foot. Each pair is lightweight, slim enough to fit a wide range of footwear, and made to a precise specification that can be reproduced if you need a second pair.
Orthotics are not a cure-all, and they are not right for everyone. Your assessment combines Footscan data with a clinical examination of your feet, lower limbs and movement, alongside your symptoms, footwear, activity levels and goals. If orthotics are appropriate, we will explain why; if another approach would serve you better, such as strengthening, footwear changes or treatment, we will tell you.
Custom orthotics often work best as part of a wider plan, and can be combined with our biomechanics assessments, podiatry, osteopathy and rehabilitation services.
Who can benefit from Custom Orthotics?
Custom orthotics can be useful for:
Heel Pain and Plantar Fasciitis
Arch and Midfoot Pain
Achilles Problems
Forefoot Pain
Knee Pain
Shin Pain
Long Hours Standing at Work
Athletes and Active Individuals
Running-Related Injuries
Recurring Lower-Limb Injuries
Pressure-Related Foot Discomfort
Flat Feet or High Arches
Not everyone with these problems needs orthotics. Your assessment will help determine whether they are likely to be helpful for you.
Our Process
Understand Your Needs
1
We discuss your symptoms, injury history, activity levels, footwear and goals, so the assessment focuses on what matters to you and whether orthotics are likely to help.
Footscan Gait Analysis
2
You walk, and where relevant run, across the Footscan pressure plate. Alongside a clinical assessment of your feet and lower limbs, this shows how pressure and load move through each foot during movement.
Design Your Phits Orthotics
If orthotics are appropriate, your Footscan data is used to design a pair of Phits insoles tailored to your feet and the way you move. They are then 3D-printed to your specification.
3
Fit and Review
4
When your orthotics arrive, we fit them, check comfort in your usual footwear and explain how to wear them in. We can then review how you are getting on and advise on any adjustments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Still have questions? Take a look at the FAQ or contact us below. We will be happy to answer any and all questions around the clinic, our practitioners or our services…
-
Phits are custom insoles designed from dynamic gait data captured on a Footscan pressure plate and then 3D-printed. Because they are based on how your feet move, rather than just their shape, they can be tailored to the way you load your feet when walking or running.
-
Footscan is a pressure plate system that measures how your feet interact with the ground as you move. It shows pressure distribution, timing and roll-off patterns through each step, helping us understand how load travels through your feet.
-
Not necessarily. Orthotics can help some people, but they are not right for everyone. Your assessment will help determine whether orthotics are likely to be useful or whether another approach, such as strengthening, footwear advice or treatment, would be more appropriate.
-
Phits orthotics are slim and lightweight, so they fit a wide range of footwear. We will discuss the shoes you wear most often during your assessment, as some styles accommodate orthotics better than others.
-
Once your orthotics are designed, they are 3D-printed and sent to the clinic. We will let you know the expected timeframe at your appointment and arrange a fitting when they arrive.
-
Most people wear their orthotics for short periods to begin with and build up gradually over the first week or two. We will give you clear guidance at your fitting and are happy to help if anything feels uncomfortable.
