What is VALD Movement Testing?

At Apollo Health Collective, we use advanced VALD testing technology to assess movement, strength, balance and physical performance. By combining objective data with expert clinical assessment, we help you understand how your body performs, identify opportunities for improvement, and make more informed decisions about rehabilitation, injury prevention and performance development.

Whether you are recovering from injury or surgery, returning to sport, addressing physical limitations or looking to optimise your performance, VALD movement testing provides measurable insights to help guide your next steps.

VALD movement testing uses advanced assessment technology to measure aspects of your physical function that can be difficult to quantify through observation alone. We use three VALD systems, HumanTrak, Dynamo and ForceDecks, to build a more detailed picture of how you move, how you produce force, and how your body responds to physical demands.

These technologies allow us to assess movement patterns, strength, force production, balance and functional performance. The findings can help identify meaningful differences between limbs, establish baseline measurements, monitor changes over time and inform your rehabilitation or training programme.

Rather than relying solely on how you feel or how a movement looks, we combine objective measurements with your symptoms, clinical history, goals and physical assessment. The tests selected will depend on your clinical presentation, physical capabilities and goals, and not every test is appropriate for every person.

VALD testing is not about achieving a single ideal score. It is about understanding your individual capabilities, identifying relevant areas for development and measuring progress against meaningful goals.

Our Process

Understand Your Goals

1

We begin by discussing your medical and injury history, current symptoms, activity levels and objectives. Whether you are recovering from surgery, managing an injury or working towards a performance goal, this helps us select the most relevant assessments.

Assess Your Movement and Physical Capacity

2

We select appropriate tests using HumanTrak, Dynamo and/or ForceDecks. Depending on your needs, this may include movement analysis, muscle strength testing, force production, balance or selected functional performance tasks.

Interpret Your Results

Your results are interpreted in the context of your clinical assessment, symptoms, goals and physical demands. We consider relevant differences between limbs, individual measurements and changes over time, rather than relying on a single score or assuming that perfect symmetry is always necessary.

Turn Data Into Action

4

We use the findings to inform a practical plan. This may include targeted strengthening, movement retraining, clinical exercise, sports rehabilitation or progression through a post-operative programme.

Where appropriate, repeat testing allows us to compare results over time, evaluate changes and refine your programme as your capacity develops.
